Does anyone know what this is?

114871unknown3.JPG

Some sort of hydroid? I have several that have appeared in my tank. It looks like a cotton ball about the size of a pea with tentacles coming out of it. The tentacles don't sway and stuff like aptasia but are kinda stiff-looking. Are they dangerous? If so, how do I get rid of them?

Any help appreciated.

Agree with the sponge assessment. There are beneficial filter feeders. They tend to grow in shaded areas. I wouldn't try to get rid of them.

Nice. I was getting worried. Tried to suck one of them up, but it grew back. I'm glad that they're a good sign, because they're multiplying pretty rapidly.

They'll perform their duty of filtering your water and keeping the nutrient levels down. Every little creature helps.
