OK, I really need some help with taking pics of my reef. I have a Canon Powershot S330 Elph, and I am having problems with focus when trying to take some reef pics. I was wondering how you folks deal with this issue? As far as I know, these point and shoot style cameras do not have manual focus settings. I also understand that while the camera is not a complete piece of garbage, It's not what one would call professional quality either. I am just hoping someone has advice on shoting with one of these.

I have also tried to set teh focus on an object outside the aquarium by pressing the shutter halfway, then moving it to the object in the aquarium the same distance away. This doesn't seem to work either for focus, and on top of it all the exposure is way off because exposure is set to an object with different light.

PLEASE HELP!

I see the s330 doesn't have manual focus, but auto should yield some good pictures. You will just not get as many. :)
Try it in macro. My Canon P&S'S won't do a good auto in the tank without it.

My Canon Powershot G6 has manual focus, as well as a pretty good macro and super macro mode. I really enjoy it and find it to be the perfect digicam for my needs.

Here are some shots I took with it... not reef-related, sorry :D

Best of all, this digicam only cost about $600 when new - not chump change, but not terrible either. This was roughly 2 years ago, so I'd imagine it's much more affordable now.

Good luck in your search!
