hello everyone,
i just have a few questions about the sump i'm designing. first, where can i find flexible pvc hose? is it better to have baffles verticle or at angles>? does anyone know if ASM G1X or similar skimmer have a max water level for sump? I'm using a standard 20g acrylic tank. oh and what can i use to mount a small float switch (the small cylindrical type)?

thanks for helping!

hey there,

- i hear you can find flexible PVC at home depot. they call is spaflex. ive never found it though.

- keep baffles vertical

- dont know about the skimmer. sorry.

- be careful with float switches. i dont know what kind you have so i cant recommend. but, if they malfunction you cna have bog problems!

ya i am still a little worried about the float switch. it's been widely recommended and used on systems for years without failure. its on Melev's website...i trust his work. but im uneasy non the less.

I've never seen the spaflex at Home Depot, but Lowe's definately has it.

Here's what I've been using for about a year without a hitch. I got the double float for backup protection, and so far the second has never been needed.

In the past I've set baffles vertical, and I believe most people do it this way.

thanks for the help everyone! its good that lowes has it, theres one right by my house. gravveyardworm that model just gave me a great idea on how to mount my switch, thanks!
