Second picture is some sort of polyp. You would need to get a picture of it open to better see if it is in fact a pest.

when you say the market, are you talking about a LFS or a seafood market?

Things that come from seafood markets have a very chancy lifespan in your home aquarium: if you have a spare qt tank and want to see the life process, power to you, but I sure wouldn't put it in my main tank. For one thing, it may bring in something noxious in the way of weed, and for another, food-things usually have so much biomass they'll take your tank out when they go.

The second item I wouldn't worry about too much. Most things that close up at night aren't problems: evil works 24 hours a day. It's probably a button polyp.

i heard that clams will help out with nitrates..so i gave it a try..

seafood market items can introduce alot of parasites to your system, I would get rid of them.
