Polyester filter bag - Are these ok?

Hey everyone, I was looking into buying a bunch of filter socks. I was thinking that I would buy something like 10 or so, this way I replace them every other day, then only have to wash them like once every 2 weeks. Because I am cheap, I always look for stuff that is the same as products they sell specifically for reefs.

I was thinking about buying some of these bags these bags..

These are just your normal polyster filter socks, nothing fancy, and would just go around the end of my overflow tubing. At less then $4, they are much cheaper then buying any from the LFS or online. The added advantage is I can get lower micron versions. I know that most of the stuff in the LFS are 200 micron, which I think still allows too big of particles through. I have a 100 micron that is much better but I was thinking of 25 microns.

So what do you guys think, would these do the trick, and what micron size would you suggest? any downsides to these?

BTW, shipping is like $20 so even if I bought 10 of them, its only around $52, compared to $85-$100 at hobby specific sites

Also, maybe we could do a group buy.
Thanks
Dale

I would think these would be ok because the polyester is inert. I am not too sure about the small micron size though. This means the filter bag would capture more things but then it would clogs aster leading to more changes. I would simply use the 100 micron, I am lazy LOL. Sounds like a good deal though. I just use the bags from the pool section in LOWES or HOMEDEPOT. These work ok for me.

Ok, I think I am going to order some of these, I saw another site were I can get them for less than $2, but I have to order 25.
