Ponies in a Fuge?

I have a 28 gallon HQI nano cube in the making and I am working on hooking up a fuge to it. I am going to pump through a chiller before the water goes through the fuge. It is a 20 gallon All-glass Aquarium. If I keep the temp. around 72-73 ( the flow is about 250 gph) would I be able to keep some kind of pony or pipes in there?

Doesn't that remove the benefit of a refugium? Any syngnathid will eat any pods that show up.

As for the flow rate, seahorses would not do well in that. Flagtail pipefish MIGHT do okay, if you can offer them supplemental feedings. That could mean daily hatching of baby brine shrimp since some won't convert to frozen food.

Overall, I probably wouldn't do it.

I'm sorry Bad description. I forgot to mention, I'm gonna have a dsb of Miracle mud, live rock, and macro in there. I'm gonna have a hang on fuge on the tank for pods. As for the live food feeding, I culture brine, rotifers, I have a culture fuge for pods, various phyto, so I'm equipped for the feeding. But you think pipes would be a better choice. Thanks for the advice.
