i have a tank that has recently began to require really high amounts of dosing in my opinion. it is a 210 . it has been eating 5.5 full measuring cups of part 2( b-ionic calcium ) and like 3.5 of part 1 (alk) daily.
and yes the magnesium is fine.
anyway i decided to put a huge mesh bag full of crushed coral in the auto top off reservoir ( 10 gallon tank) full of ro/di water. the idea was that the ro /di water is so active that it would draw from the crushed coral everytime new water is poured in. i am still dosing the same.
just wondering if anyone had thoughts on this. its not that i am saying that this will make a huge difference. just maybe help in addition to the dosing 2 part and hopefully keep my dosing from getting out of control.
by the way my calcium levels tested at like 370 ish for months. and then about a week or so after i added the bag it tested at 470. i dont know if the dosing finally caught up or if the bag has made the difference, probably a little of both. but anyway. just wanted to see what you guys thought on this
