Now that it's Monday morning I am letting my Sunday come to a close.
I have just gotten home from the hospital. My wife, Tammy, was admitted for observation. She had chest pains around 3:30 which she didn't tell me about. We went to lunch after IMAC and we finished up eating and I was about to ask her if she was ready to head home and she had misty eyes. I asked her if she was crying and she said she was having some chest pain. We were close to Lutheran General and I tried to talk her into going but she refused. Said she would be okay.
We got home at around 4:30 and let our dogs out and we were sitting in the yard and she told me that she was still having chest pains. I told her our democracy became a dictatorship and we were going to the emergency room. By 5:00 we were at the acute care center. Chest pain gets you right through the door. They transferred her via ambulance (as a precaution) to the hospital. She had severe hypertension (174/110) and the paramedics gave her nitro. We were at the hospital by 6:00 and her ECG was done by 6:05.
Aside from hypertension, 155/94, after being there for hours they gave her some blood pressure meds. At 11:00 PM they elected to admit her for observation and a stress test this morning. I went home, let the dogs out, and packed her a bag. I went back to the hospital to get her settled in. She refused to close her eyes until I promised to go home and get some sleep.
It's really nerve racking because there were serious coronary risks on both of her parents sides. Her paternal grandfather died of a massive coronary at the ripe young age of 44.
So here I am. Back at home. I hugged the dogs ant told them mommy will be alright and that she misses them as much as they miss her.
My wife is my best friend. Those that have met us both know I am not joking when I say that I definitely got the better end of the deal when we got together. She is a gem among a field of rocks.
Positive thoughts and good karma are definitely welcome. I need to get some sleep because it's going to be a really long day. Again.
