Potassium Chloride - from water softener

Question for the experts.

I know that potassium as potassium chloride is a minor element in NSW, but what if you artifcially bump it up by using 'softened' house water? I'm currently running house softened water through an RO memberbrane (with no DI), so I suspect the KCl is coming through.

Any downside to having higher KCl levels then NSW?

Thanks in advance

Scott

Potassium runs roughly 400 ppm in saltwater, so the amount that passes through the RO membrane shouldn't be much of a problem, assuming regular water changes are done. I don't remember whether there's much danger in high potassium levels, but I don't think your tank should have a problem.
