Power head placement

Hello,

What is the best direction to aim my power heads? I currently have a Fluval Sea CP3 Circulation pump aiming down and a Ecodrift 4.0 wave maker running at 80% pointing up, see pictures for reference. My pH is steady at 8.15.

You want to have good flow across the water surface to get oxygen in the water. A skimmer also helps with this.

For tank flow, it depends what corals you have, but as a general note, random flow with peaks of higher and lower flow to beat simulate tides and current in the ocean.

Yea hard to say exactly where to put them. It really is just what works best for your tank. Limiting dead spots, flow in a way that doesn't irritate corals, areas of higher and lower flow, all come into play. Just need to adjust things until you are happy really. I like watching corals, and how food I add moves. I don't turn pumps off during feedings, so I watch where the food moves to see how flow moves.
