Well, we just lost power, for a whole 4 seconds. I just happend to have 1 hand full of vicodin and the other full of dilaudid. I was restocking the ER med machine and the whole place just went pitch black. We've lost power before and nothing really goes haywire or anything. We've got pumps on rechargeable batteries and a mutha of a generator so it was pretty uneventful. I just thought it was funny that I happend to have my hands full of narcs at the time.

Hmmm...first question that comes to mind is - what could you possibly do in 4 seconds? Second - are you always prepared to take advantage of a 4 second window of opportunity?

Why did the power go out?

I don't know, but the Hospital is in west Toledo and my in-laws lost power in Oregon (about 7 miles away). I guess it was a widespread thing. Nothing came of it, but it was the most exciting thing that happend yesterday. zzzzzzzzzzz

I just happened to have 1 hand full of vicodin and the other full of dilaudid and when the lights came back on they were gone. Meds what Meds?

That would mean not only the end of my career, but possible jail-time as well. Nurses who get caught stealing/abusing drugs get to keep their licenses as long as they go through rehab. Can you imagine, a nurse swaps a cancer patient's morphine with saline so she can get a buzz, but doesn't lose her license. We acutally had that happen at a different hospital I worked at. She went through rehab and is now working as an RN at a retirement home. I've never felt so ashamed of a co-worker.:mad2: :mad2: :

on a lighter note, I leave for F L O R I D A in about 12 hours!!!!!!!!!!
