Hey everyone...
Been fighting with my Maxi-Jet 1200 on my Remora Aqua C for the last few days.
The first issue was a very loud buzzing noise... which Jason from AquaC told me was the newer design with of the Maxi-Jet. He told me to super glue the impeller head to the magnet... this resolved the buzzing.
Next up was a deep hum... after messing around, I finally took the Max-Jet off of the suction cup base and that resolved the hum... so I thought.
Woke up this morning and the hum is back... but after a few minutes it goes away... and then it's back again.
At this point I'm not really sure what to do. The actual noise of the skimmer doesn't bother me, neither do filter noises.
This hum is just driving me nuts!
I have no issues going out and buying a different powerhead, if it won't make this hum under backpressure.
Just want to hear what everyone has to say about this...
Switched out the Maxi-Jet 1200 for a different pump? Any quieter?
Does the Maxi-Jet 1200 have a break in? Did the hum go away... maybe why the hum comes and goes?
