Pricing on New Tank?

Where would be a good place to get a quote for a new tank? I am thinking something in the neighborhood of 30"18"x24".

I was in Aquarium Imports today and they had a Marineland 54g tall corner flow reef ready(30"x18"x24" with stand and hood that I really liked. I would like to shop around and see where I can get the best price. I probably won't be buying for a while but just pricing.

When I get the new tank, I am going to build my own stand. That way I can make sure that everything will fit under it.

I am thinking about doing a stand that is 3' longer than the tank with book shelves on each side that would go up as high as the top of the canopy. It would look like an in wall tank. This would give me a stand that will be almost 6'x 18".

I would have a lot of room for the Sump, Fuge and Top Off tank to fit under it. I am going to start drawing up the plans this weekend, I'll post them here when I get them done to get some feedback.

Ocea will also make custom stands for less than you can make your own. He will configure it to you own specs.

The cost to ship what I am wanting to build would probably cost more than what it would take to make the stand, but I will definitely check with him.

Also, if I build the stand myself I can space the cost out over a period of months and I just like to do cabinetry work.

KingRicky, you are probably already aware of this but, Aquatic Imports in Hoover also has a cabinettry shop and will do custom stands and canopies. They have a really cool design for their custom canopies. If you plan to build a canopy, you might want to take a look at their design.

Also, FYI www.glasscages.com located outside of Nashville sells aquarium frames for those who, "want the satisfaction of building your own acquarium". They also do custom stands. John at Coral Reef Aquatics isn't very impressed with their tanks though. My husband and I visited the facility, but discovered their glass is really thick, but their prices weren't too bad. However, we were very impressed with their acrylic aquariums.

You would not have to ship a new system from ocea...they are in NA (north alabama) maybe south Tenn. you can P/U
