Priming an overflow?!

Hi everyone and sorry I don't normally post the same thread in two forums, but I need a response asap!! I'm just in the middle of setting up my new tank with overflow to sump and the overflow sounds like a toilet flush every 10 seconds or so. I've tried everything but can't seem to get rid of the air in the drain pipe... Any suggestions?! thanks!

The link is working for me. What kind of overflow do you have? Is it a RR tank or a HOB overflow? If its a HOB overflow you can use this one if the durso won't fit Stockman Standpipe Good luck

It is a 600gph all-glass megaflow overflow. I've already got the plumbing standpipe all put in. But I'm using 1" ID flex hose from the bottom of the tank into the sump. Is this the problem?

is your flex hose above the water level in your sump, if its below the waterline thats whats causing the flushing.

nope, shouldnt be... how far into the water is your pipe running? The outlet should only extend a few inches into the water. If its too far then that could be your problem. Also did you make the hole in your durso big enough? There could be many things causing this, but the spa-flex isnt one of them.
