Problems with Rea Sea Max hood

When I turn it on at first the fan makes a loud noise then tapers off to a light hum after about ten minutes.

It kind of sounds like the electric props on my remote control boat and did not do this at the very beginning.

Is this normal?

Even better, I bought it about nine days ago so I can just replace it.

I have seen another tank with similar issue. You should contact Red Sea. Maybe they can get you a new fan, especially since you bought it 9 days ago.

I contacted the store I bought it from. They said that noise is not normal. They're ordering in me a new top and will phone me when it's in. That's a relief.
