Prodibio users

Hi guys,

I'm carbon dosing vodka on my 210 gallon but am going to switch to prodibio with the biodigest and bioptim. I am switching because I have read that it only requires once a week dosing. This is convenient in many ways as sometimes I cannot attend to the tank everyday. Does any else use the prodibio method because of its ease of use and only having to dose once a week?

I thought it was once every 15 days. What does once a week do---accelerate the breakdown of wastes?

From my understanding a lot of reefers dose every 7th day.

For anyone that uses prodibio how strong is this stuff? I have a very heavily stocked load in my 210 and 1 ampule of bioptim is recommend per 50 gallons. Will this be enough even in a heavily stocked tank?

I had a cyano problem about 2 years ago and started dosing biodigest/bioptem every 15 days and it really cleared it up. I have since made alot of improvements to my husbandry and overall maintenance to eliminate the causes of my cyano but I still use the Prodibio products as well.

It says 1 ampule every 15 days per 1000 liters for the biodigest, but it says something about every 7 if the tank has algae problems. The bioptem part is 1 amp per 200 liters every 15. I just do 1 a week instead of 2 every 2 weeks on my 125, seems to me you would want lower dose more often than a larger one less often.

I believe the bioptem part is more like a source of food for the bacteria that you introduce with the biodigest, but I could be wrong.

I use it because of the lighter dosing schedule. biodigest one week and bioptim the next.

I have read that its almost impossible to overdose with prodibio. Don't know but its sweet, one day after adding prodibio you see inmediately polyp extention and it lasts for like 3 days and then the effect slowly fades. I dose weekly.

I also add 1ml of vodka daily, it doesn't really show any effect, I'm starting to dose other type of food for bacteria that has some aminos. So I'm dosing 3 different bacteria food and no probs, I think its nice to keep variety for the taste of many strands of bacteria.

My tank is a 220gal
