What should I use for a fiter. Im getting a ramora pro skimmer. How do I go about set up. Water when to put the sand in. live rock Ect.

It's tough to put that in one post and that is why you are getting some response lack. I'd check out a book from an LFS, they usually have some great starter and 'semi pro' books for people returning to the hobby or stepping up from freshwater. Check one of those out and then come back on to ask your more specific quesitions. Just my two cents. Good luck! I can't beleive how much more I've learned since I got back in the hobby from years ago. This forum is the best out there.

No harm intended, but the topic is too broad to cover with a single post. IMO, start by reading some good books, formulate a general plan, and ask lots of questions before you execute your plan. Then folks can better assist you with specific help and guidance. Good luck, enjoy, and
To Reef Central

First thing---get your tank put together, and be sure it's level. Use a carpentry level to make certain. Not all house floors are---level, that is. Be sure you know which pipe goes where. Know the names and specs of your equipment so you can ask questions where needed. Read the instructions. Bag the manuals so you can find them 3 months from now. Get organized. Amazing how many bits and bobs you'll find you need once you start assembling your gear.
