Protein skimmer keeps overflowing

I've had a HOB skimmer on the back of my tank for a few months now since I don't have a sump at the moment and the bubbles keep overflowing out of the top after being plugged in for maybe a minute or two. How do I stop this from happening? Please help

It happens no matter what level it is on

It also has a drain line but for some reason that didn't work... A ton of bubbles just overflowed out of the top of the collection cup

Check the ventri part. The airline and also where it connects to the pump, run hot water through it. If that gets cloged just a little from salt or whatever it can cause this
