Protein skimmer

I just got a euro-reef cs135 skimmer for my 90 gallon mixed reef that I am building. A guy I know was telling me that it is way too big for my tank and I need to get the one smaller (cs100). I thought it was a bunch of bs, Is there any truth to this? Would like feedback and or comments on this please

cs 135 will work fine, no need to get the smaller one,
