pulse and tide mode on a multicontroller?

Hello Roger,
I recently switched from pulse mode to tide mode on my streams with one minute intervals. I was under the impression that when a pump was on during this interval, it would still pulse as well according to the power settings and pulse interval which I set. Is this correct or does the pump just turn on and off in tide mode? Also, I read that the multicontroller does a true soft start on the pumps, so is it better when servicing them or turning them off for a while (I find the currnet too powerful for the corals to keep Cyclopeeze in their polyps, so I turn them off for a few hours when I feed) to press the feed button, to turn them off and then unplug them? And also when plugging them back in to make sure they're plugged into the multicontroller first before I plug the power back in? Thanks.

Under tide mode, the pump that is on should pulse. You might try intervals of at least 5 minutes and make sure night mode isn't activated if this isn't working correctly. If you turn them off for a few hours it should be no problem either way and the soft start is generally a function of the construction, the alarm and driver system make it almost impossible for the pump to spin backwards or do anything screwy that would damage the drive unit.

Thanks Roger, I don't think that my photocell was getting enough light or something. I restarted the controller, replugged in the cell, and it's working fine now. I really like the tide mode w/ pulse a lot better than just pulse alone. Seems a lot more natural like the flow I experienced diving in Fiji and Australia.
