pump cavitation or a leak...

Has anyone ever heard of a pump cavitating with plenty of water but not enough diameter to supply the pump with sufficient water to pump. Resulting in cavitation and bubbles in my tank.

A water pump can be starved for water if the intake is not adequate enough. When cavitation occurs, any air disolved in the water will come out of solution and form bubbles. This is really hard on the pump impeller. In my experience, only larger more powerfull pumps will do this though.
