Purple actinics?

My tank came with 2 VHO T12 actinics that are purple. (UV lighting FR30T12/03/VHO to be exact)

My question is, what colors look the best under purple? On the reverse side, what colors look not so good? I know james's lionfish will look tight, but once he's gone i was thinking about getting a bunch of zoas and maybe some maroon clowns. Was concerned that the maroon won't look so hot.

It's not a big deal, after these burn out i was going to put RB LED strips in its place, but that could be 6-10 months from now.

Do you have just the actinics or are there some daylight (white) bulbs in there? The actinics are supposed to supplement the white bulbs.

Blue, reds, and purple will pop under the vho's. Rb led's are the way to go and your greens wil really pop also.

In my experience...reds, oranges, yellows & greens pop the most...blues and purples not so much. I have both 420nm T5's and Cree RB LEDs and the same colors pop under both lighting, but the LEDs bring out 100% more color. Stop by one of these days and I'll show you. I have a little bit of every color in my tank that will show you how the colors look under each lighting.
