Does pvc glue need to be aquarium safe? f so what type of glue should I be looking for?

I've never had a problem with any of it.

no - once cured it is reef safe

If it can be used for drinking water its ok for fish

Never had any problems using it.

Nor hav I. Just make sure you use primer first.
