I wanted to know what the minimum tank size is for one of these guys. Just about every place I see it says something different. So, what do you guys think?
Its a small class Angel that doesnt grow large in maturity. I think it would be fine in a 40 gal that isnt overcrowded. Smaller tanks would begin to limit its traveling space and eating space since they nip at the rock work for algae and sponge. I would not put a Pygmy/Cherub in a nano tank.
Mine is very active and I can't imagine him in a smaller tank. He's in a 36" long tank and swims the length of it. He's a pretty good-sized one too--a good 2, almost 3" long.
I wouldn't suggest it in a 20 gal of any kind, especially when you take into account the active nature of the fish. It may be small...but that's not the only factor to take into consideration when choosing inhabitants.
