Question about clownfish market

I have ~250 juvie tomato clowns in a stock tank. LFS (ThatPetPlace) won't buy from locals which is understandable with the locals then knowing the price mark-up. I have given a few away for free. At this point I don't see a value of more than $3-6 for any common clown that is <=$20. I'll keep what I have for juvies for that and enjoy their bobbing heads when I get home for feeding time.

When has supply and demand not driven price? The above argument is so trivial.....

I was talking to a LFS for about an hour yesterday, and he said by law, he cannot buy fish from your average customer. He even has it printed on paper, framed by the cash register. But he did say, he'll buy one or two or whatever if your breaking down a tank. But 100, he said no way, unless you had a "license" or something like that. I figured you needed some sort of paperwork showing your a reputable business. However trading bred clownfish for credit or other items is allowed (to my understanding). I've been exchanging services for another service for some time now.

Makes sense. TFP has never stated anything about a license. I was just told they stopped awhile back accepting any frag/fish sales from private individuals.

Exchanging services for one another is legal. If you trade in a coral frag, for salt, a fish, some snails, etc. You should be ok. Once cash is involved, then you're talking another story.
