question about lighting for the NC24

i just bought a viper 150mh. I plan on keeping some sps and softies. would the 150 be enough to keep my corals growing or would i be better off modding it into the hood with the 2-36w PCs? any experiance or suggestions would be greatly appricated. thankx

One word answer - yes.

Long answer - Not advisable.

Softies can release chemicals that stoney (SPS) corals won't like. Big time chemical warefare that your SPS would lose.

Ever kept a reef tank before? With SPS you have to keep the nitrates and phosphates at zero (meaning very few fish), calcium, magnesium and alkalinity levels in check and tons of flow. Not easy to pull of SPS in a nano.

A softie/LPS reef would work though.
