Have anyone has issues with turkey buster? I am thinking to get one to feed my coral and anonme. Any best place online to order one? any caution I need before using it to feed coral or anemone? I have 46 bowfront so I need a tall turkey baster.
Never had a problem with them, matter of fact I don't know what I do without them for the tank.
At most any market or kitchen supply store (like Bed Bath and Beyond) you can get the kind that do not leak out. They have a little bubble at the end of the baster. Those are really the best ones to use. It helps prevent any excess food from leaking out.
You can probably find one cheap at a dollar store or someplace like that. They work great, just be wary of how much force you use when you are aiming at your corals.
I use a stardard $1-2 baster, with a 1/4" diameter hole. When I target feed LPS and Ricordia, I have noticed that the corals seem to get a better grip on the food if you gently let the food fall out from the tip, without squeezeing it or shooting the food at the coral. When the coral gets a better grip, it'll consume the food faster, and other creatures will be less likely to steal it.
pet solutions sells a product called the nautilus seasquirt. Its graduated, it expands from 21" to 35" long and its about 20 bucks. I dont use one because I do not feed my corals
I use a syringe that is intented for injecting turkeys with marinade before deep frying. If you remove the needle, works great for target feeding or dosing....won't leak.
I got mine from walmart. $.97 I think. Liquid will leak out of the tip if its out of the water though. Im thinking about sliding some air tube over the end to get down a little deeper.
Do not buy the Kent Sea Squirt if you want to feed things larger than cyclopeze or blende food. Brine work sort of but mysis get stuck at the tip and won't go up into the tube. And they leak. I am disappointed in the expense of this rarely used product.

Don't get me wrong, for delivering phyto to clams and oyster eggs/cyclopese to zoas it is great aside from the leak. Mine just leaks air in at the bulb so the product does not stay in the tube if out of water. And it is expensive for this capability.
