Question for Dart Users

I just got my new Sequence Dart up and running and it seems to be running very hot...hot to the touch and transferring quite a bit of heat to the tank. Head pressure is minimal, around 5 feet or so, and it is well ventilated.

I was just wondering if this is the norm? Is your Dart too hot to touch, luke warm, cool,...etc?

The pump end of my dart is the same temp as my water. The motor itself is hot enough to be uncomfortable to touch. Has been like that since I got it. Very quite pump with great customer service. Give a call and talk to them. If there is a problem with your pump they will send you a loaner.

My 2 Darts run very warm to the touch, they always have. Pumps are absolutely silent.

How are you coming up with its warming up your water? Just out of curiousity. Have you done anything different in-conjuction with adding the Dart? I added 2 Darts to a 120 and had NO temp deviation what-so-ever.

Well, I have been running some temp tests since yesterday night to see if my GenX Mak4 or the Dart was adding more heat. The Dart caused the water to rise from 78.2 to 80.6 within 1.5 hours without the Mak4 or any cooling devices running. The GenX Mak4 caused it to rise only slightly from 78 to 78.7 over the course of about 6 hours overnight without the Dart or any cooling devices running.

The Dart is uncomfortably warm at the motor and the Mak4 is only luke warm at the motor. My only explanations for this are that the fan for the Dart seems inadequate, while the Mak4s is much more powerful, and that I may have gotten a bad Dart.

Thanx everyone for your input,

Jacob
