Question Regarding Dosing Pump

amcarrig

Allons-y!
A friend of mine bought a couple of medical dosing pumps from ebay a while back to use for dosing esv and stuff. They come with absolutely nothing. I thought someone in the club was using them as well and was looking for tubing. Can you let me know if you've got one of these dosing pumps so that I can have them e-mail you with questions?

i had one of those pumps. remember? i found the bags and lines on ebay most of the time. if i ran into trouble though, i would buy some at my local medical supply store, but that costs an arm and a leg

You had so much stuff under that tank, I'm having a hard time remembering the dosing pump

Thanks for the info Tom. :)

Check out reefdosingpumps.com. It is a local company in Norwich and also a RC sponsor. You should be able to find everything you need at a reasonable price, while supporting a sponsor and local business.

you know, one of these days i'm gonna make you stop laughing at the expense of my corals and tank. see, i don't mind you laughing, but they, they just don't get it. i think you need to apologize. even my dieing corals deserve respect.
btw, you are welcome

annick, I was also looking for tubing recently for an old dosing machine I had purchased a couple years ago. I found out a couple things. Some manufacturers have proprietary drip sets that will only work on their units. In my case it was a discontinued unit, but I was lucky enough to get a hold of some sets from a distributor in the UK. I eventually discovered that I couldn't get mine to work even with the new sets so I had to purchase one from the above mentioned site "reefdosingpumps". This did come with a set of tubing and he also sells replacement tubing. Even these though if I'm not mistaken have specific parts that are part of the drip set that fit into receptacles on the doser which I don't believe are universal. I'll check mine tonight again.

BTW if they have an IVAC model I have some extra sets that I won't be using since I wasn't able to figure out how to make the unit work.
