Question regarding Rubbermaid Brute containers...

I have had my pair of Brutes for some time now. One was used for water changes and the other has a float valve and I used it for storing DI water. Thinking I was going to replace it with a white poly tank, I used one of the Brutes for some yard waste and some bags of trash. Now I want to use it again. I only used it for trash for a week or so. Would a bleach bath do the trick or is it back to being a trash can??

Bleach should work.

Just clean it really well. Should be ok as long as nothing spilled in it like a chemical or something.

yeah soak a little bleach with water for about 24hrs and then you should be golden.

I would think bleach would be toxic when you go back to storing RO water in it again.

I would just use some vinegar and warm water, let it sit with a powerhead in it for about 24 hrs

I would go with a little bit of bleach.

If you really want reassurance with the bleach, just use a heap of water ager in one of the rinses. It's probably not necessary though.

I'm not worried about the bleach. Use it to wash and then let it dry and I shouldn't have any worries. Vinegar, IMO, won't kill whatever germs may be in there.
