Questions about tempered glass..

Hello, I will be purchasing a glass 135 from a friend and plan to drill it for overflows.

I realized that you cant drill it if its tempered glass. How can you tell if the glass is tempered?? Is it common for a standard 135 to be tempered glass?

Find out the manufacture of the tank and call them. That is the beat way to know.

Is there anyway to visually percieve the difference if I cannot determine the maker?
