FYI, Carbon does something that Ozone (O3) doesnt...that is it removes toxins from the water. If you run SPS, carbon is pretty important IMO. Running O3 should not exclude you from using carbon....they have two different purposes.
YES THERE ARE SOME RISKS INVOLVED! If you run carbon in to high of flow, it will stip out stuff too fast from the water and you can cause RTN on your corals. Most people do not use it in an active flow manner because its riskier. Its much safer to just run passivly in a med flow section of your sump.
If you havent been running carbon, its recommended to start with less than 1 cup/100g and move up to that slowly. You dont want to cause any shock to your corals!
