Quietest Pump

What is everyones opinion on the quietest pump to use as a return from the sump? Its for a 90g AGA and the sump is directly under the tank stand.

I like my Quiet one, but most say Eheim is the way to go.

Anyone using an Eheim for their sump return? Which model should I go with? I dont want to over do it but I also dont want to be under pressure either.

I have a mag 9.5 for my aga 90g with sump in the stand. I have no problem with noise, its very quiet.

How deep is the water in the sump that the Mag 9.5 is running in?

Eheim 1260 is what I use for my 90G. I've also had Mag3/5/7/9.5. the Eheim is BY FAR the quietest of any of them.

Hey Tehon, I just bought a Eheim 1262 (900 gal per hour at 0 ft) that I used for few days. It might work for you and I could save you a few bucks, They aren't really discounted anywhere. I paid $125 Let me know if you're interested ... B4UWheeze@Yahoo.com Yup, its quiet.

My suggestion is to NOT go with the quiet one. I have 4 of them. One quit working and I found the ceramic shaft was broken Pentair gave me the extended run around on the replacement. (I was just trying to buy one not even a warranty issue) I liked the old metal quit ones but thes new plastic ones are very hit or miss.

my Mag 9.5 mounted on a filter pad/cushion is quiet as a mouse.

i have an ehiem 122 pretty quiet i can sleep with it on, not silent though.

The idea of a mouse mat? is that in the sump under the water?

I now have a 1262 in my sump - split return feeding my fuge and tank. tried a quiet one 4000HH very loud. tried mag 9.5 large head loss a little noisy not to bad. But very happy with the Eheim.
I wish that the 1264 was available.
