Radion XR30W G3 vs Radion XR30W G3 Pro

Help! I'm getting differing opinions on what Radions I need to be using (surprise in this hobby!).

I started my 110 gallon bowfront corner tank (34L x 48 W x 27 H) using a 34'' Marineland blue/white LED as well as another 22'' Marinland LED. I also have two of their blue only LED strips going down the sides of the tank. I have been successful with LPS, softies, zoos, etc.

I picked up two Radion XR30W G3s to upgrade my lighting mostly because I want my colors to pop. After giving him my tank dimensions, the LFS that I ultimately bought the radions from suggested I wouldn't need the pros. However, another LFS that I use is of course saying the opposite and that I should get pros with the depth of my tank.

I'm really anxious to make the lighting change, but don't want to open the ones I bought if I'll be disappointed.

Any help would be most appreciated.

I would go with the Pros..........you have a deep tank and the extra power will only help you out.

Any pictures of that tank?

Both are really great options. If you plan on adding more hard corals, I would recommend getting the G3 Pro.

Thanks for your thoughts. I haven't had much success with SPS to this point but I'm not sure if it's lighting or my nitrate levels (which are generally higher than SPS like from what I read).

If I've attached the picture correcty, you should see my tank. I think it's doing relatively well. I'm just worried I might take a step back just to get simulated thunder storms.

Virtually every thread I have read about the Radion's, which is a lot, the people with the pro version and for that fact the standard are turning the power down to 75 to 80% to keep them from cooking the corals. I personally have the standard on a 24" deep tank and have them turned down because the were cooking mine from the middle level on up at 90%.

In my opinion the pro's are not needed unless you have over 36" tall tank or you are having the light high above the water to get more spread out of fewer # of lights.
.....but for only $100 more for the pro??? hey, why not right?
