Just curious, I've been reading some articles you've read recently (including your article about urchin larvae mortality w/ artificial sea salts), and was just curious if you still lean towards the Crystal Sea Bioassay formula for display tanks?

That article was written by Dr. Ron Shimek, not Dr. Randy Holmes-Farley. Shimek can be found at his forum over at Marine Depot (www.marinedepot.com).

I believe Randy has been a longtime fan of Instant Ocean.

Yes I do believe Randy uses Instant Ocean. I do as well.

I'd be hesitant to call that a chemistry article. :lol:

I've always used Instant Ocean (except my first bucket from Seachem). I presently give it a boost with Dowflake and MAG flake.

I boost the calcium by about 70 ppm and magnesium by about 150 ppm.
