RBTA Split

Approximately 3 days ago, my RBTA split for the third time. When the RBTA split, the two pieces moved under a rock and have remained there since.

I read an article sometime back indicating the RBTA may do this and also may die if not moved.

How long should I wait before attempting to move the RBTA?

Obviously I would like to avoid dismanteling my rock set-up.

you can move it to my tank if you wish.. I would probably move it if you can.. maybe try and move a powerhead in a way that will cause it to move on its own. the last one i had did the same thing and died.

How long was your RBTA under the rock before it died?

I will keep you in mind when I need to rid my tank of a few.

it took it a few weeks before it finally died seems like it was close to 3. they seem to be pretty vulnerable right after splitting.

If you do rid yourself of some in the future please keep me in mind as well. Mine was run thru the intank MJ 1200 garbage disposal.

I would give it at least a few more days. If you can get it with a turkey baster, you might want to slip it some small bits of food like flake or mysis. Mine still eats flake & it's the size of a dinner plate.
