RD3 speedy 100w

I'm thinking about upgrading my return pump from COR-20 to RD3 speedy 100w for my 150 gallon mix reef with 40 gallon sump but I want to check in to see if it appropriate (too much flow) for me?
My current pump is also using for 40w UV and reactor by manifold

Never too much flow and you can slow it down all the way to 20w to accommodate as low of flow as you desire. Always better off having too much flow on tap then too little!

Thank you very much for your advice and I also have questions about the RD3 speedy 100w want to know why it's 2 version? One is 2400 gph and the other 3100 gph ?

The 3100 GPH one is the flow version. The other is the high pressure version made for systems that have higher head pressure. The high pressure version will provide more flow at head levels in excess if 12' head pressure.

It all boils down to your total head loss. Head loss is total head height combined with friction losses. So how high is the display above the pump location and what is the plumbing between the pump and display? Size, number of elbows etc? The flow pump has a 1.25” output. The pressure has a 1” output. If your plumbing is 1” then I’d suggest the pressure pump.

If it’s a new build and the pump will be located under the tank vs basement and you are doing all new plumbing and can avoid reducing it down from 1.25” and then split it to two or more 3/4” returns then the flow pump would result in more flow.
 
Thank you very much sir. Yeah I'm going with the pressure one because my sump/pump is just underneath the tank but I also have manifold for other equipments like UV , reactor and chiller
