We had a great turnout for the board meeting last Wednesday. Quick recap:
***Everything recapped here is not in stone. As this is your club, everything discussed by the board will be presented at the following club meeting and voted on by the general group.
Things we are planning:
-Behind the scenes tour to the Shedd Aquarium
-LFS "crawl" (like a pub crawl, only we're getting a caravan together to travel to all the different LFS in the area)
-Bus trip to Premium Aquatics or Drs. Foster & Smith, both at some point
-Sand Swap (Littlesquid, you're still in charge of this, contact me about this)
-Trip to Jonny's Reefing Experience in Bloomington
-Group Clam buy from Clams Direct
-Tank Photography workshop
If I forgot anything, please PM me
Please feel free to share ideas or other activities you would like to see planned. We'd like to fill the calendar for 2008!
There will be a new, more user friendly site. Included on the site will be:
-Map of LFS in the area
-Calendar of club events
Available in the paid members only portion of the site:
-Members map (will require permission from member, this is for getting emerg help, etc.)
-Emergency help section on the site
Please feel free to suggest other features for the site.
Dues were decided on. They will be $28 annually for 1 person, or $42 annually for a family membership. Dues will be used to cover club trip expenses, etc.... We will be coming up with a list of things that will be included with your membership. Please let me know if you have any ideas or things you would like that membership to include!
Nominations for board members include:

Vice-President: Still need nominations! Job includes running meeting if pres. is not present.
Treasurers: Brandon Zalud & Brenda Furtak
Secretary: Still need nominations - Margaret - did you want this or...??? It wasn't written down, I'm going off memory
Site coordinators: Mark & Margaret
Other board reps: Stacy Kearse, Rob Culen, .......??? Who am I missing???

The January 2008 meeting will be hosted by Diane Bennett.
Please contact me if you are still interested in hosting, I know there was one other person who wanted to host - Brenda? Please let me know if you want to host, give me a date and time.
Meetings will not be on certain days or times. Whoever wants to host will get to choose the date and time of their meeting. Everyone who plans to attend will be asked to bring a dish to pass.

Should we eventually be registered with a tax ID as a Not for Profit Organization?
I am working on the outline for the next meeting to include as new business or old business. PLEASE contact me if I have left anything out. Thanks.
