receeding hammer?

hi
my prize hammer is receeding. i have no clue why. i moved apartments last week and had to move everything. my temp got too high after setting the tank back up, hitting 86 degrees. i did a water change today and yesterday.

so my question is does a receeding hammer have the ability to reheal? or once it starts receeding it is done? thanks for the help.

i would think that it could reheal under ideal conditions
