Recommended Protein Skimmer

I need a new protein skimmer quickly so I'm going to order one very soon. What would you recommend. I have a 125 gallon mix reef. I'll be building a custom sump so I can get it to fit no matter what the size is. I would like something that is quiet. I don't want have to sell a kid to buy one. Please give me your opinions.

The best bang for your buck skimmer is the SRO 2000int or 3000int. Either one will work well on a 125.

This is pretty much the top skimmer....

SRO2000 hands down.

For the 125 I would go with the SRO2000int. I wouldn't go with the 3000 until I got above 150g display tank.

I use and really like my Aqua Euro 250 Classic.

Thing pulls out a ton of gunk from my tank.

I have had one for a few years and it works great.

I have a reef octopus 4 and love it! Easy to set up, adjust etc.

Which one? There's a lot of SkimZ models.


With out any experience in them I would probably lean toward the SM161 for a 125 as I was looking at the SM201 for my 180 but decided to go with the SRO 3000.
