I don't know name. I have a nice big clump the size of a silver dollar. So it does get bigger. I can tell you it will grow faster if you leave it alone. It also needs iodine to keep its color. Brite light also helps. It's a keeper for sure!!!! Nice rocks

Hahaha!! I too have those in my tank and fuge and always wanted to find out what type of algae they were. They grow like crazy with me and are a fond food for yellow tangs. They look like little bouquets when they mature. If you pop em they exude this slimy clear stuff that smells like...sea water...

It is Scinaia. I got some attached to an open brain. They grow really fast. First pic is at about 3 weeks and the second at 5 weeks old.
