Go to your local Vet and talk to them i had no problem getting Interceptor from my.

i took my arcos out, put em in a 5 gallon pucket (only had frags) put in half a tab of interceptor let it sit for a few hours (6 i think).. all red bugs dead.

Are they brown out that way? my did.

I just got a recent shipment of wild and aquacultured colonies. I quarantined them with an interceptor dip at 4x the recommended dosage for 12 hours as a preventative treatment. The acros were unaffected by the dip. I'm not sure if there were any bugs on them in the first place so I can't verify how well the dip worked but I know they are bug free at the moment.

I just got a new frag and I see it has the red bugs.. I want to put it in a 5 gallon bucket but what dose do I use for the 5 gallon bucket? I know 6 hrs or so but how much interceptor?

Peace, Jeff

RED ACRO BUG

Hello all,
I got the dreaded bugs and flat worms/ tape worms a few months ago... I was so annoyed at the time that I tore down my entire tank and Iodine dipped everything... I lost a couple of things here and there but nothing worth mentioning. I was bug and worm free from then on, till last night. I checked my corals and bammmm! hundreads of red bugs? WTF! Well I have no more worms, but the bugs came back. I think it's because it was still in the system the first time I tried cleaning them out. I didn't think that they lived in every part of the tank.

Today i'm going to the local vet and pick up some Interceptor and hopefully get these bugs out of my system. Will update and post result when I can.

I just finished my third treatment. I haven't seen any since the first treatment but i will wait to vote for a couple of weeks. I didn't see much major improvement in the overall health or polyp extension since before the first treatment except on a couple that had the bugs really bad right after hurricane Ivan. I might see some growing over dead portions of the skeleton and some polyp extension where there was none though. I used the smaller pill (5.75mg active ingredient) for a 100 gallon tank and 29 gallon sump with ~100 lbs LR so I may have overdosed a bit. I am glad to see them gone.

I think personally that by now if there was any long term effects they would already be reported with the thousands of people already treating... Hell If ORA and others who have 10s of thousands of $$$ in livestock are treating then why the hell shouldnt I... Thats My opinion LOL... Been Bug free now for about 4 months and lovin it..

WEll when I treated the only thing that was affected and I had several things was Crabs. pods and shrimp.. the shrimp was only affected when I treated with a bit too much interceptor.. 1/3 tablet was hard to cut.. LOL... I have several Anemones, Clams SPS, LPS, softies, Fish Other than the 3 things that were affected I think the general consensus is that its safe for everything else... If you want your crabs or shrimps remove them prior to treating... And to be safe leave them out of the tank for a while... I think it was stated the bugs can live for about 3 days without a host (acro)... IMO it was very worth treating my tank to help stop this epidemic..
