I do not want to start a battle about salt mixes like so many others, but I was wondering if there was any significant difference between Red Sea and Red Sea Coral Pro. Is it worth the price difference?
Thanks
Gil
If I remember correctly (A Big If ). The Red Sea rep said was that the main difference is after they extract the salt from the Red Sea, they add Calcium and I think Mg back into the mix to make them a higher concentration in the salt. There is a chart somewhere on the net comparing the levels of this salt and others. I just cant remember the link.
Whoaaa, did I just read a message from the past? Was it my dear dead uncle Frank? No? Was it perhaps from my favorite long gone salt water shop? I think it was. How nice.
Hello Dennis and Anita. Good to hear from you again.
Looked for the charts but could not find anything for Red Sea Coral that was done within a year at least.
Thanks
We miss all the friends and talks we had over the 5 or so years. When things slow down we are thinking about a little Sharkys outing/get together just for fun.

Thanks for the replies. Just ordered from Drs. F&S the Pro Salt.
I don't have a CA reactor so I think this will help and the cost is not that much different.
The regular Red Sea salt is a tapwater safe version. Coral Pro is made specifically for RO water. I wrote a short article about both salts in the latest issue of Marine Scene.
