Hello, I have had a probelm with red sliem algae on my sand bed in my 5 month old mixed reef. Everything I have read states that this is caused by high levels of phosphates or nitrates. My water quality i sspotless. Nitrates read 0-5 PPM with weekely water changes. I just added a phosban 150 where the phosphate levels were .05 before now read 0! The problem actually started right around the tiem I added the reactor ironically. All levels read good. What else can be the cause???? Any thoughts

the tank is still going through its algae cycles, just keep doing what ur doing and it will clear up on its own. oh, and yes 5mos is still cycling.

Well the only place I see it growing is on the left side of the sand bed and a bit on the right side. None on the rock as of yet. Also some on the overflow slots where the tank water flows down. It actually started there about 2 months ago. Didnt think much of it because it was nowhere else. Guess I'll just keep up with it and water changes.
