Hey all-
I'll be giving my talk to CORA about reef aquarium lighting in April, but here's a teaser:
This is a spreadsheet (MS Excel 2003) that I made up for myself to compare the long term cost of various light setups.
It works best when you try to compare different light systems with equivalent output levels. However, determining the light levels and reflector efficency (or coverage area) are really gray areas that require a little more research on your part.
The first tab page is the instructions.
The 2nd page is the actual worksheet.
It's not super fancy with hidden cells or protected cells, so you could accidentally delete formulas. Hey, it's free...
Examples are provided.
Enjoy. It's more addictive for reef geeks than Minesweeper or FreeCell...
