Reef Supply

I live in Clermont. Does anyone know of any nice reef supply stores in the Orlando area. The closest one I am aware of at this point is Tanks-A-Lot in Ocala.

TIA

I guess all depends what are you looking for. I'm from that area too and in an emergency situation like when I run out of salt or I need a pump, I just run to Leesburg Pet Center on 27 about 20 miles from Clermont no traffic :). Then Sea In The City about 35+ miles great corals and fish and now the one in International Drive and Kirkman Exotic Abyss, those are the ones I can think of around our area. There are many more I go from time to time but they all are far. :(

Also you have Ocean Blue (Altamonte) or do a nice trip to Tampa and visit FAOIS or Marine Warehouse. My 3 favorites are SITC,FAOIS and OB.

sea in the city may be the easiest to get to in orlando since you can take the east west expressway almost to its doorstep.

Another vote for Sea In The City. Just hop on the turnpike to 408, take 408 (East West Expy) East to Conroy Rd. Once you exit take an IMMEDIATE left then turn right at first traffic light (gaston foster). Once on Gaston Foster you want to make another almost immediate left into their parking lot.

Marcye is great to deal with.

OB = Ocean Blue
FAOIS= Fish and Other Ichthy (great for colonies not frags) and also always with great stuff.

All of the above mentioned stores are good, ( and Marcye is awesome!) and I'm thinking you should go visit them all. But, you might come to the ORCA meeting this Sat as that is in a store closer to you. It's on the kissimmee/orlando border

ORCA is a non-profit organization of aquarists dedicated to the care and conservation of marine life kept in reef aquariums. Our primary objective is to educate other area reef keepers on the requirements of caring for reef inverts, fish and coral propagation. Our main goals are:
Education of reef aquarist
Promote better standards for LFS
Explain how to care for and propagate coral
Disseminate information from books and the Internet
Provide a network of knowledgeable reef keepers
Supply a source of propagated corals for other members
We meet monthly at a club member's home (although this month is at a store)
Meetings are maybe total a couple of hours that cover some club business, an educational piece, answer any questions (as in like an expert's forum) and then there is a frag auction.

Except we promote reefcaretaking, not sobriety. :)

So, I guess the big difference is we embrace our addictions, AA supresses their's.
