Reef tank with algae/coral combination.

I would imagine many of you guys have decorative algae with sps, lps morphs and more, but I wonder if some newbies have thought to do it.

Its very rewarding, there is nutrient importing/exporting in your display tank with no adverse affects by having certain species of algae in there as well.
They give you heaps of fill in colour and as we all know there are no none invasive algae, but a couple are easy to control and will never be an issue with grabbing a bit out as it grows.

Its just another option, with low light corallines will do the same thing, but with the low light they require to spread over the whole tank you are restricted as to what corals will survive that way.
I tried it in the 80s and couldn’t do it due to any temp control, but over quite a few years now it works fine.
I did away with most of my sps last year to a friend to make room for more algae, the tanks are only 2 foot by 16 inches by 17 inches, not much room in them.
