ReefBooster and Amino Acids

Do you think routinely dosing Prodibio ReefBooster and Amino Acids into a low nutrient sps tank is overkill or ok to do? Some of my sps were turning pale because of overskimming and running GFO/GAC reactors. Elos tests showed 0 for Nitrate and Phosphate.
I started dosing ReefBooster and things are looking better. My RedPlanet is red again instead of light pinkish. I'm wodnering if adding AA will help out even more or are the AA and ReefBooster too similar?

Reefboster says it's AA, omegas, etc...It freaks me out to see the tank almost opaque and then you have to really watch the skimmer when you start it back.

Coral Accel is a cheaper version that I choose once or twice a week along with oysterfeast. Otherwise I just feed heavily.

One thing I hate about ReefBooster is that I have to shut my skimmer down until the next day and mess around with the adjustments when I turn it back on. I also use oysterfeast and my coral still became pale while dosing it daily. My routine with the ReefBooster right now is 1-ampule every
5-days. I turn my skimmer off, dose ReefBooster, then the next day adjust the skimmer to full open and plug it back in, then I dose OysterFeast and RotiFeast to keep the skimmer from foaming over from all the ReefBooster. I will look into the "Coral Accel" is that an amino acid?

I feed oyster feast and rotifeast sometimes few squirts a day and weekly reefbooster plus fish food, and ELOS aminos on the non reefbooster days. I hate buying supplements and make a cocktail out of my tank. Recent years the number supplements for corals products increased way too much.

Just when I get a bit of color, after 15% water change corals will be noticably paler for a few days.
I have been slowly trying to increase the nitrate build up to 5 ppm and that seems to help with the color. I believe I have fed so much on some days I have experienced ammonia spike. I have a bag of KNO3 that is looking real tempting to mess around with.

The tank is 2+ years old but I am too diligent about sucking all the detritus out, part of the problem, maybe I should collect all the detritus in a cup and place it in the sump.

Good info, so you are using both ReefBooster and Amino Acids at the same time, but just not on the same day. Do you feel this is working for you in regards to color of sps? Or is it just like many of the other supplements that we just use and don't know for sure if it is making a difference or not? I feel I am already feeding pretty heavy with a 180-gallon tank I feed daily: A small amount of Cyclopeeze and mini spectrum in the morning for Anthias, Spectrum Pellets in late afternoon, 2-3 cubes of frozen at night and then sometimes more dry food before the lights turn out. Also 1-2 tsp of OysterFeast/RotiFeast daily. I do 15-gallon weekly water changes. I am looking to get a 3rd Tang ASAP to add to my bioload.

I think throwing food into the tank is what makes the SPS color up most. But that comes with phosphates, aminos are like just the N source without noticable phosphates. One thing I am still doing is a little vodka and MB7, that's just to keep exporting some nutrients but I was dosing way too much before.. I have to feed so much I do get kind of exhausted, actually. I let my filter sock go a few more days so it things get a bit more dirty, I know, this is messed up! Everything is growing though.

My total volume is 100G and I am doing reef booster about 1 amp per week. Just on my 3rd bottle though.

Here is a bad photo documentation because I added more supplement lighting and camera setting was different but you get the idea, I think I am on the right track

I don't dose AA but always wonder whether you can use whey proteins or AA sold at places like health stores instead of the stuff sold for reefs. There are definitely multiple examples of other supplements used in our hobby that are repackaged, relabeled for reef use, and then sold at 10X the price. Heck, most of egg whites are proteins and AA. Why can't you dose egg whites? It's fresh, organic, cheap and easily available. How about egg white powder sold in bulk? That stuff is 80% protein.

Strategic- looks good in less than a months time.
Aurora- may be on to something, I'd be to chicken to try it out on my tank though
