Does acrylic bond to the inside of a glass tank with silicone? I'm hoping to turn my 20 gallon sump w/ wet/dry/skimmer into a fuge w/ skimmer.

How do people cut the combs in the acrylic? Router? Table saw?

Thanks.

When I attached my acrylic to the inside of my glass fuge I cut acrylic a little smaller so the silicone had somewhere to go. The silicone adheres well to glass but not as well to acrylic. I have had mine in use for a few years with no problems. As far as the combs go I believe a router will give you the best finish and size. HTH

Thanks! Since I posted, I had a friend ask if I was going to use Lexan. I said, "I don't know." Should I?

I am using glass partitions. I just had them cut at the Hardware yesterday. 6 panes cost me a total of $10 ( Three @ 11 7/8"x 13" ( Bubble trap ), One @ 11 7/8 x 14" ( skimmer section ), two @ 4" x 15" ( the 2 sides for the intake box ). I also had them 45 deg. cut the bottom corners, so they didnt cut into the silicone on the tank.

I've cut acylic using a table saw and mitre saw, but I found out you need at least 60 teeth to the blade for it to cut cleanly. I would test on a scrap piece first if you have one available.
