I don't trust any of them, but the digital is so far the best. I always run two, as a crosscheck on each other---a low-tech strip on the sump and a digital in the display.
i have an aquacontroller jr. when i got it i had a little time and temp on there took it out and imediattly replaced it with the adqu jr temp probe. same place and there was a 4 degree differance after 10 minutes. sometimes it just doesn't pay to go the cheap route. i would get either a pinpoint or another controller and put it in the sump so that colaline doesn't build up on it. i think that might have had something to do with my differ.
